copper [adopt a lovey wednesday] copper adopt

his owner was working long hours every day and so he was constantly cooped up in his crate.  eventually surrendered to the langley animal protection society, copper, the 1 year old beagle has been waiting for his right match since december 21st, 2013. copper

copper is extremely physical + extremely intelligent.  he needs exercise (physically + mentally) 7 days a week.  copper is looking for a high energy, active human that can keep him busy with adventures + challenges. copper

as soon as we met copper, it was nose to the ground and he was off!  copper is driven + *ahem* stubborn.  his tracking instinct is incredibly strong and because of this, he will likely need to always be on leash + have a very secure contained yard.  copper is confident + independent but as soon as you show him you have something entertaining for him (helllooooo scent work!), his heart is all yours! copper

although still a puppy at just 1 year old, copper is crate trained, house trained and travels well in a vehicle.  he loves to fetch and have fun.  he is very dog social and will fit right in with a fun group of doggy friends.  in fact, this would be a great way for copper to get his beans out. copper

if this cute little ball of energy sparks your interest, please call LAPS at: 604-857-5055 to speak to copper’s ridiculously awesome trainer, gwen. :) copper

cory [adopt a lovey wednesday]

“he was a senior lady’s little everything, her world.”

trav+ash cory01

he was a senior lady’s little everything, her world.  in her wheelchair, she took took cory with her everywhere she went, referring to him endearingly as her little ‘poopala.’

tragically, her home burned down in a fire and cory’s mama passed on.  cory managed to survive with minor smoke inhalation and some singed fur, but otherwise he is physically okay.

cory is a sweet little guy that truly misses the love and affection of his mama.  he is a teeny bit slow to warm up but with the right incentive *cough*   (cookies + snuggles)   *cough*, cory will be your BFF.

cory is an 8 year old, male, maltese mix.   he has been at the LANGLEY ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY for 20 days now and is ready to be loved at his new home.

because of his previous peaceful lifestyle and his reserved disposition, cory is looking for a quieter home, one with older children or no children.  he could be siblings with another dog, preferably a nice little female.  and cory would require a cat-free environment.

if you could find a place in your heart for this little ham that’s been been through way too much, please call LAPS to speak to his awesome trainer, gwen at: 604-857-5055.  if adopting cory is something you simply can’t do right now, we’d love if you shared this blog post with your friends + family.

ernie [adopt a lovey wednesday]

“it was sadly obvious that he had been dumped.”

we had quite a list of adoptable dogs to photograph the last time we were at the LANGLEY ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY, so after photographing each cutie, we were quickly off to document the next.  but after his glamour shoot, ernie had other plans.  off leash in the play yard, ernie found out it was time to go and he took that as “you mean.. time to PLAY?!”

he ran around and around, letting us get near and then joyously frolicking away, encouraging us to chase + play.  after some laughter and once he got his beans out, ernie was finally ready to be scooped up and cuddled.  so much cute!

ernie was found in a crate on 264th.  he had no ID and it was sadly obvious that he had been dumped.  luckily, he was brought in to LAPS and is super excited for his new mama // papa to find him and love on him for the rest of his days.

ernie is an 18 month old, chihuahua X boston terrier.  he has been at the shelter for 54 days now with very little interest which is BEYOND me.  he is a quirky little punk that will light up anyone’s home + life.  who can resist this face?!

ernie loves to run + play.  he enjoys showing off his spunky side and hanging out with other dogs.  ernie is still very young and will require some work in the training department.  because of his energy and his tendency to be a little mouthy, he is suitable for an adult only or ‘older’ kid home.

if ernie lights a fire in your heart, please please call LAPS to speak to his awesome trainer at: 604-857-5055.  if adopting ernie is something you just can’t do, he’d be forever grateful if you shared this blog with your friends + family.  let’s get ernie a home for christmas!
